Guide Rule — Field Reference

Name	Descriptive name identifying this rule's purpose (e.g. "Citation Report", "Use of Force Guidance").
AI Request Type	Matches the `requestType` value sent by the workbook (e.g. `Incident`, `Citation`, `Arrest`). This is the primary trigger — only rules whose AI Request Type matches the incoming request are evaluated.
Priority	Execution order when multiple rules match. Lower number = higher priority (runs first). Default is 100. Range 1–999.
Active	Uncheck to disable this rule without deleting it. Inactive rules are never evaluated.
Applies To	Narrows the scope to a workbook section or context (e.g. `Narrative`, `Reports`, `All`). Leave blank to apply to all contexts.
Policy Name	The policy, directive, or procedure this rule references or enforces (e.g. "Use of Force Policy").
Policy Version	Revision identifier for the referenced policy (e.g. `Rev 4.2`, `2024-01`).
Data Source	The document or source this rule's instruction derives from (e.g. "Policy Manual", "State Statute 14-7").
Instruction Role	How the AI instruction is injected into the prompt: `system` (default — highest authority), `user`, or `assistant`. Use `system` for compliance rules; `user` for conversational guidance.
Keywords	Comma-separated words/phrases used for secondary matching and search (e.g. `speeding, citation, vehicle`). Not the primary trigger — use AI Request Type for that.
JSON Match	Optional JSON condition for exact field/value matching against the incoming request payload. Example: `{"type":"citation"}`. Only applies this rule when ALL specified key/value pairs are present in the request.
AI Instruction	The core of the rule. This text is injected directly into the AI system prompt when the rule matches. Tell the AI what to do, what to include, what to omit, and any compliance requirements. Be specific — the AI follows these instructions literally.
Rule JSON	Advanced JSON for complex workflow parameters, nested matching conditions, or structured output templates. Optional — leave blank if not needed.
Report Assistant Name	Short label shown as a button in the workbook's Reports tab and Transcribe panel (e.g. `Citation`, `FI Card`, `Arrest`). Leave blank to hide this rule from report lists.
Report Description	Tooltip text shown on the report button in the workbook (e.g. "Vehicle violations report").
Show in Reports	When checked, this rule appears as a clickable report button in the workbook. Requires Report Assistant Name to be set.
Auto Workorder	When checked, automatically creates a work order when this rule matches an AI request. Requires Workorder Type to be set.
Workorder Type	The type/category of work order to generate (e.g. `Citation`, `Arrest`, `Maintenance`). Must match a code defined in the system.
Workorder Template JSON	Default JSON structure for auto-generated work orders. Defines the fields and default values pre-populated when the work order is created.
Linked SOP Rules	Associate Standard Operating Procedures with this rule. Checked SOPs are injected as additional context into the AI prompt when this rule matches, giving the AI access to relevant procedures.

Where this agency's reported incidents are read from, for the Analytics tab: totals, trends, the map, and early-warning series. Until a database is connected here, Analytics shows whatever sample incidents the agency holds. The connection string is stored in the SPARK database and is never sent back to this screen in full: an existing one shows only its server and a mask. Leave it blank to keep the current value, or type CLEAR to remove it. Prefer a managed-identity connection string with no password in it where the agency's database supports one.
